Arriva UK Trains
Eracura was approached by Arriva UK Trains Ltd and asked to provide strategic advice and a quality review on their broad approach to sustainability (socio-economic and environment), as part of their bid for the new East Midlands franchise. In the words of the DfT this franchise will be about driving growth in the East Midlands – with connectivity as a driver for social and economic prosperity. The bid was submitted in September 2018 and the new franchise will commence in August 2019.

RSSB
Eracura provided technical support and advice to aid the thinking around the Rail Industry Sustainable Development plan. The Phase 1 tasks included undertaking a gap analysis of key industry documents against the Sustainable Development principles and a contextual review outlining potential risks of inaction, outline business case and proposing levels of ambition. Phase 2 focussed on outlining preliminary action plans for decarbonisation and air quality, the former made more pressing as a result of the Minister of State at Department for Transport Jo Johnson’s request for a carbon reduction strategy by September 2018.

Abellio Group/West Midlands Trains Ltd
Eracura was retained by Abellio Group to oversee the sustainability elements of the mobilisation and transition of the West Midlands franchise, having been a core part of the winning bid team. The relationship has extended into the new franchise, with Eracura supporting West Midlands Trains Ltd to deliver a number of contractual obligations and set up new and innovative partnerships.

Virgin Trains
Helping to make environmental data more relevant to the audience
Eracura worked with Virgin Trains to help turn their environmental success stories into more accessible metrics for their employees. The project involved researching appropriate data equivalents pertinent to the Virgin Trains business and the conversion of all appropriate energy, carbon, waste and water data. The final equivalents were to be used in the Virgin Trains publication ‘Our Amazing Journey’.
